As a Senior Process Engineer (Mining) you will contribute to the design and development of mining facilities that produce the essential minerals society depends onfrom copper and zinc to gold silver iron and manganese. Your work will support safe efficient and responsible mineral extraction while enabling our customers to advance toward lowerimpact more sustainable operations.

Purpose of the role

In this role you will lead and execute process engineering for mining projects across basic and detailed design stages. Youll ensure technical integrity design safety constructability and full integration with multidisciplinary teams. Youll support project delivery by applying advanced engineering knowledge and contributing to the development of highquality compliant and futureready process solutions.

Core responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities across basic and detailed engineering for mining facilities.
• Coordinate and guide Level I & II engineers ensuring quality consistency and alignment to scope.
• Review project scope schedule and cost expectations; ensure deliverables meet project requirements.
• Participate in squad checks to ensure compatibility with other disciplines (geology geotechnical civil mechanical electrical piping instrumentation and more).
• Conduct field design work to verify current conditions integrate new systems and support construction personnel.
• Approve and validate process deliverables prepared by the team.
• Identify scope changes manage impacts and support project controls.
• Provide expertise in mining process design for systems including:
  • Material transport systems and conveyor operations
  • Crushing: rotary cone jaw HPGR
  • Milling circuits: SAG/AG ball bar and fine grinding mills
  • Flotation: conventional and column cells
  • Thickeners and filtration systems
  • Bulk material handling systems
• Support hydrometallurgy operations including:
  • Complex copper ore processing
  • Leaching and solution management
  • Mixers settlers filters flotation columns
  • Clarification and drag control
  • Starting sheet and permanent cathode operations
  • Acid mist control and nonprocess infrastructure
• Conduct advanced analysis simulation and mechanical design calculations (pressure vessels heat exchangers pumps compressors vessels and related mechanical equipment).
• Lead equipment specification procurement support and vendor design reviews.
• Support constructability reviews commissioning strategies and operational readiness.
• Review vendor drawings calculations procedures and participate in premanufacturing meetings and inspection/testing as required.

Skills & experience

• MUST: Proven experience in mining projects.
• More than 12 years of experience in mining process engineering and detailed design.
• Strong knowledge of mining process operations mineral processing systems hydrometallurgy and bulk material handling.
• Experience across project stages including PreFeasibility Feasibility and Detailed Engineering.
• Knowledge of applicable Mexican and international standards customer specifications and industry best practices.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent documentation rigor quality focus and ability to meet demanding deadlines.
• Experience with 3D modeling mechanical design tools and process simulation/sizing software.
• Software: JKSimMet MineSight MetSim (mining design and planning tools).
• Languages: English B2 minimum (technical communication); Spanish native/professional.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Masters degree in miningrelated specialization preferred.
