Provides coordination and support for Point of Care Testing (POCT) services ensuring effective program operations compliance and collaboration across departments and Outreach settings.

Job Description:

The Coordinator Point of Care Testing is responsible for supporting the planning implementation and ongoing coordination of POCT services across the organization. This role collaborates with clinical and operational teams to ensure high-quality testing practices regulatory compliance and continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution cost containment initiatives implementation of new services and performance improvement measures.
  • Facilitates the development implementation coordination and evaluation of program or service area initiatives.
  • Supports the development of practice standards and measurable outcomes based on performance evaluation regulatory requirements and current research.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and leadership regarding departmental or service area policies procedures and services.
  • Performs technical functions within the area as needed to maintain service levels and support patient care.
  • Assists in monitoring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to point of care testing.
  • Participates in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supports community based or outpatient clinics with POC testing.
  • Serves as primary contact for Outreach providers regarding POC procedures troubleshooting and clinical guidance.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science Healthcare or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certification (e.g. Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in point of care testing laboratory operations or clinical program coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational problem solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to laboratory or POCT services preferred.
