Job Summary

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the fight against cancer Join our dedicated Oncology team at AstraZeneca as an Associate Director in Patient Safety Technical this pivotal role you will manage and evolve the information assets and systems owned by the Chief Medical Office ensuring they meet the scientific business and compliance needs of Global Patient Safety. Reporting to the Director of PS Technical Solutions you will provide technical expertise across AstraZenecas enterprise-critical Patient Safety Pharmacovigilance reporting systems. Your work will support the design development and continuous improvement of our safety reporting tools ensuring they align with regulatory obligations and business goals.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert within the PS Technical Solutions Team for reporting systems.
- Manage tools documentation and methodologies to address and support organizational reporting needs.
- Ensure Patient Safety PV reports are developed and maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee timely changes to reporting systems to meet new health authority requirements or business demands.
- Upgrade technical components of reporting systems in a compliant manner.
- Identify and prioritize system enhancement requests.
- Control data access define training requirements and ensure system compliance with regulations.
- Support user arrangements and Service Level Agreements.
- Troubleshoot problems and develop new reporting solutions.
- Provide technical input on strategic plans for PS systems.
- Evaluate new modules and software upgrades for impact on system validation and processes.
- Maintain a global perspective on business needs for accurate information while focusing on compliance.
- Anticipate trends and apply them in developing safety reporting solutions.
- Ensure quality of business-related reporting content in project proposals.
- Contribute to procedures and specifications related to PS CoE information sources.
- Participate in interactions with partners and health authorities on electronic safety data exchange.
- Support PS CMO in pharmacovigilance agreement processes.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a scientific IT or numerate discipline with relevant experience in patient data reporting activities.
- Extensive experience (5 years) in Analytics/Business intelligence/Reporting roles with proven requirements gathering and solution delivery.
- Proven competence in designing delivering deploying or maintaining validated MIS reporting solutions for patient safety.
- Broad knowledge of reporting tools like Oracle Analytics/OBIEE Business Objects COGNOS etc.
- Strong SQL querying knowledge.
- Broad knowledge of data visualization techniques.
- Ability to articulate complex safety-related business needs in report design and development.
- Extensive experience in system validation audit and PV inspection activities.
- Experience working across different geographic locations organizations and cultures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to prioritize work and deliver accurate results in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Higher degree in a clinical or safety-related discipline.
- Awareness of technological developments for AZ PV Systems design and development.
- Ability to lead change through continuous improvement based on competitive practice awareness.
- Leadership capabilities to lead diverse teams across geographies.
- Experience in multiple therapeutic or business areas or safety-related roles in biopharmaceuticals or health organizations.
- Knowledge of clinical trial data standards with health authorities worldwide.
