Audiovisual Engineer

Koniag IT Systems LLC a Koniag Government Services company is seeking an Audiovisual Engineer with a Secret security clearance to support our customer in Huntsville AL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with A/V system design installation maintenance and programming with knowledge of DoD security Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:The Audiovisual Engineer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of AMCs Audio/Visual systems from installation through maintenance and troubleshooting. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Provide comprehensive engineering support for all AMC Audio/Visual (A/V) control systems and componentsInstall maintain and troubleshoot A/V equipment including:Control systemsDisplay devicesLCD TVsSpeaker systemsAudio processorsSwitching and routing equipmentVideo conferencing systemsCabling infrastructureManage A/V projects from initial planning through implementation and commissioningEnsure A/V system security through regular firmware updatesAddress vulnerabilities in A/V systems to maintain IAVA complianceImplement and maintain password security per DoD/Army cybersecurity policiesModify and develop A/V system control code to meet operational requirementsProgram control interfaces for intuitive user operationMaintain and support digital signage systems for HQ AMC messagingCreate and update content management workflows for digital signageDevelop and maintain technical documentation for A/V systemsPerform system testing and verification after installations or modificationsCreate and follow standard operating procedures for A/V equipmentCoordinate with stakeholders regarding A/V system requirements and capabilitiesProvide technical guidance on A/V technology selection and integrationDiagnose and resolve complex A/V system issuesConduct preventive maintenance on A/V systems and componentsKeep current with emerging A/V technologies and integration methodsSupport training for end users on A/V system operationCollaborate with IT teams to ensure proper network integration of A/V systemsEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for A/V installationsEducation and Experience:Required:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Audio Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience5 years of experience in audiovisual engineering installation and maintenanceExperience with A/V control system programmingBackground in project management for A/V installationsKnowledge of security requirements for A/V systemsRequired Skills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of A/V system design installation and troubleshootingExperience with A/V control systems (Crestron Extron AMX etc.)Proficiency in programming A/V control interfacesKnowledge of digital signage systems and content managementUnderstanding of A/V security practices and firmware managementExperience with IAVA compliance for connected systemsKnowledge of DoD/Army cybersecurity policies as they relate to A/V systemsProficiency in cable installation termination and testingExperience with video conferencing system integrationUnderstanding of audio system design and optimizationKnowledge of display technologies and implementationExperience managing A/V projects from concept to completionStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret technical specifications and diagramsExperience creating technical documentation for A/V systemsKnowledge of signal flow and system architectureUnderstanding of IP networking as it relates to A/V systemsExperience with preventive maintenance proceduresStrong communication skills both written and verbalAbility to work independently and as part of a teamClearance Requirement:Secret security clearanceDesired Skills and Competencies:Certifications such as CTS CTS-I CTS-D from AVIXAManufacturer-specific certifications (Crestron Extron Biamp etc.)Experience working in Army or DoD environmentsKnowledge of SCIFs or classified facility A/V requirementsExperience with command center or operations center A/V systemsBackground in large-scale digital signage implementationsKnowledge of ADA compliance for A/V systemsExperience with room acoustics analysis and treatmentUnderstanding of audio/video over IP technologiesKnowledge of fiber optic systems for A/V applicationsExperience with integrated room control systemsBackground in wireless presentation systemsKnowledge of HDCP compliance and content protectionExperience with audio DSP configuration and programmingUnderstanding of RF systems and wireless audioBackground in system commissioning and acceptance testingExperience training users on complex A/V systemsKnowledge of emerging A/V standards and technologiesOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
