About the Role

GoLearn (Leicestershire Adult Learning) are recruiting for passionate and creative Digital Skills tutors. Teaching hours per week are variable depending on subject demand and your availability.

Applicants are advised that we have a particular need to teach the following classes:

  • AI
  • Cyber Security

Locations: At the moment we do not have fixed locations for classes but these will be agreed with the successful applicant.

Hours: this is a sessional contract and it would be expected there would be 50 hours (annually) teaching. Hours can be negotiated due to need with the line manager.

We provide generous remuneration with rates from 35.76 for each teaching hour delivered. This includes planning preparation and CPD with annual incremental progression.

The curriculum team provide learning opportunities to help learners to use digital technologies in everyday life or for work.

About You

To apply for this post you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • A nationally approved teaching qualification at a minimum of Level 3. With a willingness to complete a level 4 teaching qualification within the first 2 years of employment
  • Recent involvement in teaching learning and training or an active engagement with a subject/skill specialism
  • Good functional skills (to at least NVQ Level 2 or above in Maths English and ICT (or evidence of competence). Plus a relevant and approved subject qualification at the required level for the subject specialism
  • Application of assessment review and evaluation of learning
  • Flexibility to travel to different centres around the county during the daytime or in the evening as required.
  • Ability to use relevant teaching materials and techniques to support learning including the use of e-learning technology and the use of different educational platforms.

Please note: In your role as tutor you would be expected tocarry out initial and formative assessment including online methods to identify levels and learning goals and complete learner records of progress throughout the course. Also you will berequired to complete mandatory training on the addition in line with our duties to protect learners safeguarding and Prevent duty training will be required. We are a dispersed service and have three whole service CPD events across the year. These run on Saturdays and attendance is expected.

In addition we also expect you to shareour commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.
