Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The PCT will assist with patient care activities monitoring and clinical support tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist nurses with patient care and daily activities
- Perform vital signs monitoring and report abnormalities
- Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection using proper techniques
- Perform EKGs as directed
- Monitor and document blood glucose levels
- Provide hygiene and comfort care (bathing toileting feeding etc.)
- Assist with patient transport and room preparation
- Record intake/output and daily weights
- Maintain clean stocked and safe patient care areas
- Respond promptly to call lights and report any patient condition changes
Key Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Patient Care Technician program
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCT experience in an acute care setting
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Phlebotomy Certification (required)
- EKG Certification (required)
- Strong competency in phlebotomy EKG vitals and glucometer use
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
