Job Title: Personal Care Attendant
Location (Onsite Remote or Hybrid): Hampton NH (ONSITE)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Working Hours:3PM-11PM
Total Weekly Hours: 40hrs

POSITION SUMMARY: T
he Personal Care Assistant provides assistance to customers as required with basic activities of daily living to support an independent lifestyle within the Community.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Works well with customers; shows understanding and patience.
  • Receives and gives report of on-coming and off-going shifts by oral and written log.
  • Informs supervisor of changes in customers conditions and needs. Documents these observations thoroughly and communicates any changes to other staff.
  • Answers emergency call lights and responds appropriately.
  • Charts and logs all emergency calls. Reports all incidents to Customer Care Director and on-coming staff.
  • Provides personal services for the customers in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Performs dining room duties and assists with dining needs of customers.
  • Performs housekeeping duties and maintains a neat and professional environment.
  • Makes both occupied and unoccupied beds per customer service plans.
  • Follows procedure for medication reminders (NOT TO ADMINISTER) to ensure correct day time and that they are indeed being taken.
  • Assists customers relatives visitors and guests as needed.
  • Maintains a positive and professional environment and projects a calm and competent image.
  • Adheres to all OSHA regulations and safety procedures when bending lifting and using equipment.
  • Concerns him/herself with the safety of all Community customers in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also ensures that the location adheres to the legal safety health fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the sites fire safety and disaster plans and current MSDS.
  • Puts customer service first. Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere and recognizes
  • individuals needs and rights.
  • Performs all other duties as requested.

COMPLIANCE:

  • Complies with applicable legal requirements standards policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program Standard/Code of Conduct Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.
  • Participates in required orientation and training programs.
  • Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.
  • Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
  • Participates as requested in quality assurance and process improvement activities.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or graduation equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a nursing assistant home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker is preferred.
  • Current certificate in an accredited First Aid course and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Participation in medication course required.
  • This position requires that the employee is able to read write speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.

JOB SKILLS:

  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to positively interact with personnel customers family members visitors government agencies personnel and the general public.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts and in different units as customers needs require. Specific scheduling will be under the direction of the Personal Care Director.
  • Annual verification of a negative tuberculosis (TB) skin test may be required for this position. Check state and/or local requirements for TB testing.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently problem solve and make decisions as necessary.
  • Is aware of and rehearsed in his/her role in marketing the company Community and its services to all customers vendors referral sources and fellow employees.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

  • Interacts with customers families visitors and Community and Genesis subsidiary personnel.
  • He/she carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
