Job Summary

The Tax Manager is responsible for providing and coordinating Swiss and international advice with respect to corporate income tax and VAT and other tax matters relating to charitable foundations and related worldwide operating grant-giving organisations. This role supports the tax team and develops tax-efficient strategies for philanthropic activities whilst ensuring adherence to complex international tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. The role reports to the Head of Tax. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide and coordinate Swiss and international advice on cross-border corporate income tax and VAT issues as well as all other kinds of relevant taxes partly utilising third-party advisors depending on the countries involved  

  • Prepare or review required Swiss tax filings (income and capital taxes withholding tax stamp duty VAT) for the organisation in compliance with applicable guidelines and deadlines 

  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and policies for intercompany transactions within the global organisation 

  • Contribute to the setting of policies procedures and standards within the grant-giving organisation 

  • Conduct periodic review of compliance and reporting processes and controls with a view to continuous improvement 

  • Manage tax related requests and tax audits. Coordinate between tax authorities and relevant internal stakeholders  

  • Independent management of national and cross-border projects under the supervision of the Head of Tax 

  • Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions ensuring quality service delivery 

  • Monitor changes in Swiss and international tax legislation and assess their impact on the organisations operations and charitable activities 


Qualifications :

  • Swiss certified tax expert or equivalent professional tax qualification  

  • 5 to 10 years experience preferably (but not necessarily) in corporate income tax or VAT consulting in a reputable tax or law firm or in an in-house function 

  • Solid understanding of international tax principles including transfer pricing permanent establishment exposure and the application of tax treaties across relevant jurisdictions  

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan and coordinate workstreams engage with internal and external stakeholders and deliver tax projects to deadline in a dynamic environment 

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across global and cross-functional teams 

  • Professional working level of English (verbal and written) 

  • Must have visa/full working rights for Switzerland
