Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Flushing NY 11355
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Description
Shift:
- Day Shift 5 days/week
- 7-hour shifts (08:30 - 16:30)
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient setting assisting physicians and ensuring efficient patient flow. This role involves working with a diverse patient population across multiple specialties and age groups.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Room patients and obtainvital signs(height weight pulse oximetry etc.)
- Administer medications and performbasic clinical procedures
- Assist providers with procedures such as:
- Biopsies
- Pap smears
- Dressing changes
- Performwound care suture removal and aseptic techniques
- ConductEKG/ECG testsand blood glucose monitoring
- Collect and label specimens (urine wound vaginal venipuncture)
Patient Care & Preparation
- Prepare patients for examinations (positioning draping)
- Record patient history medications and allergies
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during visits
Administrative Duties
- Prepare and maintain patient charts (preferably usingEpic EMR)
- Order and stock medical supplies
- Review lab results and assist with follow-ups
- Support smooth clinic operations and patient flow
Work Environment
- Adult and pediatric outpatient clinics
- Exposure to specialties including:
- Cardiology
- Neurology
- OB/GYN
- Orthopedics
- Pediatrics
- Surgery
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Completion of aMedical Assistant training program(Required)
- BLS certification (AHA only)(Required)
- CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification (Preferred)
- Minimum12 years of outpatient experience(preferred in adult/pediatric settings)
- Must bebilingual in Korean or Chinese
Additional Requirements
- Experience withEpic charting systempreferred
- Must hold all required certifications at time of submission (no pending licenses)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Flu vaccination required (with limited exemptions)
- Must provideinterview availability for the next 5 days
- No time off allowed during the first week of assignment
