The Role
We are seeking a qualified A4 Chargeman to join our critical facilities this shift-based role you will be responsible for attending to service requests coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical and mechanical systems. You will play a key role in maintaining site reliability adhering to safety standards and supporting the wider facilities team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Attend and complete service requests promptly ensuring all work aligns with the agreed Scope of Work SLAs and KPIs.
- Understand the operational and technical requirements of the site ensuring current contracts are maintained to provide necessary supplies and services.
- Review and spot-check supplier/service provider work to verify compliance with contractual obligations to the client.
- Ensure the site is well maintained correctly furnished and stocked to operate at maximum efficiency.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with HSE standards.
- Competently conduct Job Hazards Analysis (JHA) prior to any maintenance or project work.
- Collaborate closely with the HSE Executive to plan execute and deliver HSE procedures for all site activities.
Incident & Emergency Support
- Assist with critical out-of-hours issues and participate as a key team member in emergency response situations.
- Maintain an effective Work Order system to ensure rectification of defective items or services is addressed in a timely manner.
Teamwork & Communication
- Assist superiors in ensuring smooth running of meetings and events at the site.
- Provide backup support for the superior during times of absence.
- Liaise with client on-site representatives to address problems and enhance working environment performance.
- Clearly document and communicate client expectations to the rest of the facilities team.
- Work collaboratively with facilities team colleagues and across the wider network.
General Administration
- Provide assistance with general administrative activities and any other duties as assigned by the superior on a needs basis.
Key Performance Indicators
- Uninterrupted site operations
- 100% compliance with client and company audit standards
- Meet or exceed client satisfaction survey targets
- Continuously improve service delivery and support technical team training
- Effective vendor management
Qualifications & Experience
- Mandatory: Valid A4 Chargeman Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Electrical or Operational Engineering.
- Experience:
- 58 years of relevant experience in engineering or a critical environment.
- 34 years of experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services within a Tier III (or equivalent) data centre or critical facility.
- Skills:
- Excellent people skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and vendors.
- Hands-on knowledge of M&E systems (e.g. switchgears UPS PDU CRAC chillers).
- Competent in HSE practices and Job Hazards Analysis.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
