The Shift Facility Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of data centre infrastructure. You will attend to service requests coordinate preventive and reactive maintenance with service providers and ensure all work complies with company and client standards. This is a hands-on role critical to maintaining site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Coordination: Manage service provider performance track work order completion and validate invoices. Schedule and oversee PPM activities.
- Site Operations: Perform daily monitoring of the facility. Create weekly reports on incidents and operational losses for management. Assist the Facilities Manager in sourcing materials for purchase.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure contractors submit JHA and worker details before work commences. Verify contractor safety induction validity and assist with the Permit-to-Work (PTW) process.
- Vendor & Client Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with client representatives and service providers. Act as an interface with clients visitors and guests.
- Technical Support: Support the FM in assigning tasks to the technical team. Assist in training vendors and engineers on software platforms like CMMS.
- Administration: Assist with space planning and updating floor layout plans on AutoCAD as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree in any Engineering field.
- Experience: 34 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing sector experience. Experience in a Tier III data centre or critical facility is a strong advantage.
- Skills: Proficient in work order systems. Competent in conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHA). Good communication and coordination skills.
