Are you a creative leader with a passion for how the arts can transform healthcare Reporting to the National Director of Formation & Purpose the Arts in Health Lead will curate welcoming spaces that support access to services for the under-served and work with our mission teams to use art as a resource for staff formation. This is your chance to move beyond traditional gallery walls and use art to support the healing and wellbeing of patients residents and staff.

Based in Brisbane this is a permanent part-time opportunity working 22.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Curate Healing Spaces: Design and manage art exhibition spaces and galleries to create environments of comfort and hospitality for patients and residents.
  • Animate the Mission: Collaborate with Formation & Purpose Leads to integrate art collections into staff development and the mission and purpose of the organisation.
  • Manage the Collection: Oversee the documentation valuation and physical care of extensive art collections in line with professional standards.
  • Collaborate with Creative Community: Work with local artists including First Nations people to bring their talents to life in spaces where patients and residents receive care.
  • Research & Impact: Support and engage in research and evaluation that investigates the impact of the arts in health and aged care settings.

  • Proven experience in art collection management systems and the professional handling of works of art.
  • A high level of sound aesthetic judgment and knowledge of the current art market.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build networks with artists donors and community partners.
  • A deep commitment to the philosophy and values of St Vincents and Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the Arts industry and significant professional experience.
