The General Manager is directly responsible for every department in their location. The General Manager must ensure the company meets the established sales budget maintains a constant leasing effort operates within all applicable safety guidelines adheres to all federal and state laws and ensures that the company is operating according to Lamar and ethical standards. The General Manager is responsible for operating the plant in a profitable and safe manner and is the first-line manager in the company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Personnel: Direct responsibility for and the supervision of the hiring training motivating evaluating disciplining and terminating of all plant personnel. Plant Managers shall also be responsible for the development of personnel to assist in the overall growth of the company and shall ensure that all personnel conform to the Employers policies guidelines and procedures. The Plant Manager shall further assume the responsibility of maintaining the appropriate number of personnel required to do an efficient and productive job in all areas of operating the plant.
- Sales: Assume overall responsibility for maintaining sales at acceptable levels for the plant. This should include but not be limited to personal sales development of ideas and advertising programs involvement in sales training programs goal-setting for sales performance coordination of market rides with clients ensuring that proposals and presentations are completed in a professional manner maintaining good public relations in the community and with all customers and whatever else is necessary to get the job done properly.
- Location and Appearance of Outdoor Structures: Maintain an accurate count of the number of poster and paint units in the plant maintain a consistent leasing effort to ensure proper numbers and locations of panels relocate units to eliminate obsolete locations maintain all structures in accordance with Employers standards and maintain an ongoing maintenance program on all structures.
- Vehicle and Office Building Maintenance: Vehicles buildings and grounds should be properly maintained in accordance with Employers policies. Vehicles should be properly maintained cleaned and repaired; the shop and yard should be properly cleaned and organized.
Knowledge Skill and Ability Requirements
- Must possess good computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Must be adept at developing teams of cross-functional experts in different geographic locations.
- General knowledge of federal and state affirmative action and equal opportunity laws and regulations.

Education and Experience Requirements
- College degree preferred
- A valid drivers license is required.
- 5 years of experience in outdoor advertising is required.
- 5 years of prior management experience
- 7 or more years of experience in outdoor advertising are preferred.
- At least two years of experience in sales and/or leasing as it relates to outdoor advertising is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The primary work environment is an office and a vehicle.
- The physical demands for this position include light lifting pushing reaching seeing (with a focus on reading color distinction acuity depth perception and peripheral vision) sitting more than 50% of the time standing stooping talking turning and walking.
- Nights spent traveling away from home are less than 10%.
