About the role
The Volunteer Program Lead leads the delivery of our current program that focuses on reducing loneliness and social isolation among older Australians through meaningful volunteer relationships. Reporting to the National Director of Volunteers and working within the St Vincents Mission portfolio you will lead a team of eight (8) Volunteer Coordinators and Support staff across QLD NSW and VIC facilitating life-changing connections between volunteers and older Australians living in residential aged care or in their own homes.
This leadership role will see you oversee the full program strengthen volunteer recruitment engagement and retention and contribute to the growth of St Vincents volunteer program across the organisation. Working with internal teams external providers and community partners youll help more older Australians experience the simple but profound gift of connection.
This is a permanent position based in Sydney or Melbourne with genuine supportive flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Provide leadership and support to a team of Volunteer Coordinators and Volunteer Support team members across multiple locations leading with genuine care integrity and a deep sense of responsibility for the people volunteers and communities we serve.
Oversee the full volunteer lifecycle including recruitment onboarding training engagement and recognition
Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external residential aged care providers support-at-home organisations and community partners to expand program reach
Manage program performance reporting and compliance
Identify opportunities to improve systems processes and volunteer experiences driving continuous improvement across the program
Contribute to the broader national strategy for volunteers strengthening collaboration and consistency across the One St Vincents network

Demonstrated experience delivering programs or services with strong compliance reporting and performance outcomes

Experience growing and strengthening volunteer programs that create meaningful social impact
Operational leadership skills with the ability to plan problem solve and continuously improve service delivery
Excellent communication collaboration and leadership skills
A deep commitment to the purpose of improving quality of life for older people through connection and companionship
