Position Description:
Summer Programs Instructors (Pre-K through K) are responsible for leading educational programming using curriculum that integrates science technology arts teambuilding and adventure learning. PreK-K instructors will spend their mornings co-leading a group of up to 12 campers (ages 4-5) and will provide afternoon support to other instructors as an activity lead for campers entering 1st through 6th grade.

Reports to: Campus Summer Camp & Education Ops Manager
Job Type: Seasonal/Part-time Hourly/Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Job Duration: 22 June thru 08 August 2026
Start Date: 22 June 2026
Pay Rate: $21.07 per hour
Work Location: On site: Bainbridge Island Campus (Bainbridge Island WA)
Benefit Package: This is a seasonal position entitled to sick/safe time at an accrual rate of 0.038460 per hour worked
Remote Work: This is an-onsite position withno remote work options
Responsibilities:
- Develop and co-teach week-long half-day camp programs for children ages 4-5.
- Collaborate with other camp instructors to plan and facilitate afternoon activities and supervise aftercare for other camper groups (ages 4-5).
- Abide by Bainbridge Island Campus safety procedures and protocols as stated in your Summer Camp Instructor Handbook and always ensure the safety of participants.
- Participate in staff training.
- Demonstrate IslandWoods core values that enable teams and individuals to succeed with shared respect and purpose
- Commitment to support IslandWoods work towards equity diversity and inclusion in the workplace
- Support IslandWoods strategic plan to expand our mission and impact and commitment to mission vision values and goals of IslandWood.
- Attend daily debrief and prep meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Current First Aid & CPR certification required
- Ability to work as a collaborative and cooperative team member
- Comfortable working with kids of diverse ages backgrounds and developmental stages
- Strong work ethics punctual flexible dependable and responsible
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff campers and families
- Skilled at spreading calm and responding to parent concerns
- Must be 16 years old by June 1 2026
- Must be able to comply with and maintain a drug-free work environment
- Must pass child safety screening procedure post-offer
