Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership and support to ensure the effective delivery of differentiated and advanced instruction for gifted and talented students. Collaborate with campus administrators GT teacher and instructional staff to implement equitable identification processes high-quality instructional practices and comprehensive services that meet the unique academic social and emotional needs of gifted learners.
Serve as a campus and district resource by offering professional development guidance and ongoing support to educators while fostering clear communication and partnerships with parents and the community. Advocate for gifted and talented students and promote awareness of their needs and potential.
Support and assist in ensuring district compliance with local policies and state requirements as outlined in the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students including program implementation monitoring and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree (Masters Degree Preferred)
- Valid Texas Teacher certificate
- 30 hours Staff Development in Gifted Education or candidate hired must complete the 30 hours by September 30 2026 deadline
- Valid Texas Gifted & Talented Supplemental certification (preferred)
- Bilingual/ESL Certificate/Endorsement (preferred)
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of program expectations and state mandates outlined in the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students including student assessment service design curriculum and instruction professional development and family/community engagement
- Deep understanding of the academic social and emotional needs of gifted and talented students and advanced learners
- Strong ability to interpret apply and clearly communicate policies procedures and data to diverse stakeholders
- Skill in researching selecting and evaluating high-quality instructional materials and gifted program curricula
- Proven ability to plan coordinate and deliver effective campus- and district-level professional development
- Highly effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using technology to support communication organization data management and instructional delivery
Experience:
- Three (3) years successful teaching experience in general education core-content classroom
- Three (3) years successful teaching experience with gifted and/or advanced students (Gifted/Talented cluster AP/Pre-AP IB/MYP magnet) (preferred)

- Establish and maintain a positive inclusive learning environment that supports the academic social and emotional development of gifted and talented students
- Design and deliver differentiated learning experiences that challenge and engage gifted learners maximizing their intellectual and personal growth
- Develop implement and refine gifted and talented curriculum for pull-out and support services that extend core content promote inquiry and encourage the creation of advanced products and performances
- Support classroom teachers in differentiating instruction by adjusting depth complexity and pacing and by providing enrichment and extension opportunities for advanced learners
- Implement campus-approved discipline management procedures and maintain equitable respectful interactions with all students
- Plan coordinate and deliver high-quality timely professional development aligned with state and local requirements
- Engage in ongoing research-based professional learning related to gifted education including identification instructional strategies curriculum development and program design
- Promote and support professional learning communities by sharing current research resources and best practices in gifted education
- Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences using a variety of formats and platforms
- Provide and promote a range of learning opportunities for gifted students and share program information with parents and the community through multiple communication channels
- Establish and maintain professional respectful and collaborative relationships with students parents colleagues and district personnel
- Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with district requirements and Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines
- Participate in faculty meetings committees and campus/district initiatives as required
- Coordinate and support district and campus events that promote advanced academics and student engagement including but not limited to UIL Spelling Bee Gifted and Talented Night and other enrichment opportunities
- Comply with all district policies administrative procedures and legal requirements
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators

Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED) Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
- Posture: Prolonged standing/walking; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking Sensory ability needs - significant; hearing near vision peripheral vision color discriminationdepth perception
- Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
- Environment: Work inside may work outside; district-wide travel regular exposure to noise frequent cold and heat
