1Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for environmental data collection analysis compliance and reporting for the San Joaquin Valley (SJV) Asset with emphasis on air emissions and greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting. Ensure adherence to Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) standards and regulatory requirements at local state and federal levels. Partner with operations and HSE teams to maintain accurate reporting support verification and assurance activities and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.Key Responsibilities
Lead and/or support air and GHG emissions reporting for corporate state and federal programs (e.g. California Air Resources Board CARB U.S. Environmental Protection Agency EPA and local California air districts).
Coordinate collection of operational activity data and other inputs needed for emissions calculations; validate completeness and accuracy reconcile discrepancies and document assumptions.
Prepare required reports and submittals including emissions inventories and supporting documentation; support U.S. EPA Title V certifications and semi-annual monitoring reports as applicable.
Maintain and support the SJV digital tools and database (Cority EMS Locus) including electronic uploads/downloads data quality checks minor configuration updates and issue resolution.
Develop implement and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for emissions reporting workflows calculation methodologies and database management.
Develop and support compliance calculations and emission inventories including troubleshooting calculation issues and partnering with operations to address data gaps.
Support Operational Excellence Data Reporting Standard (OEDRS) reporting including Air-GHG metrics reporting and the application of the GHG Accounting Protocol to align with corporate reporting requirements.
Prepare and perform quality reviews of environmental data and reports; identify issues and gaps coordinate corrective actions and support verification/assurance activities.
Provide guidance training and user support to HSE and operations personnel on database usage reporting requirements and calculation methodologies.
Partner with internal customers (operations maintenance capital projects technical and HSE teams) to compile data for compliance assurance and performance reporting.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate reporting activities within process data systems (e.g. automated notifications dashboards and low-code solutions) while minimizing technical debt.
Manage multiple projects/activities and competing priorities including tracking and delivery of key actions assigned; maintain internal references procedures and supporting diagrams.
Support the Environmental Community of Practice (CoP) and foster cross-functional collaboration; model a growth mindset and continuous improvement behaviors
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental reporting and compliance (air GHG and/or multi-media) within oil & gas or comparable industrial operations.
Working knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting requirements; demonstrated ability to interpret and apply local state and federal requirements (e.g. CARB EPA and local California air districts).
Experience collecting organizing and analyzing environmental datasets; ability to conduct data quality checks and identify/resolve data issues and gaps.
Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools including Microsoft Office 365 (Excel Word Visio); familiarity with digital reporting tools such as Cority EMS Sphera and/or Power BI is beneficial.
Strong analytical organizational and communication skills; ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail project management and prioritization skills needed to manage multiple deliverables.
Afternoon work schedule for Pacific Time Zone work hour availability.
8 years of experience in environmental reporting and compliance (air GHG and/or multi-media) within oil & gas or comparable industrial operations.
Experience supporting emissions inventories Title V compliance reporting and/or GHG reporting and verification activities.
Experience administering or improving environmental databases and digital tools (e.g. Cority EMS or similar) and developing standard workflows and procedures.
Familiarity with OEDRS Air-GHG metrics reporting and corporate reporting standards; experience developing dashboards and automation (e.g. Power BI low-code solutions).
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions influence without authority and provide mentoring/training to end users.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
