Short Description: Translator- Interpreter
- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work as a member of the core translation team in Infosys.
- The candidate will be responsible for translating a diverse range of documents such as client facing proposals project case studies contracts company collaterals press releases and project related technical documents.
- The candidate will be expected to independently translate and proofread documents without any need of a third person review and create a translated document that is ready for client submission.
- Edit Machine Translations for accuracy and completeness.
- Review and proofread translations from other translators.
- Use and develop reference materials such as glossaries style guides and translation memories.
- Work closely with the other translators one a translation project and ensure quality and consistency of the translation.
- Assist the project team in interpreting in client meetings and workshops as and when required.
- Skills /Competencies:
- Translation experience of 5-8 years. Interpretation experience of 3 years.
- Proficiency in MS Office. Basic Knowledge of Translation / Localization Processes Translation Memory tools Terminology management processes and computer-assisted translation software.
- Ability to understand the intent behind the documents and translate accurately into Japanese making sure that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible. At the same time maintain cultural appropriateness and nuances while translating.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Native Japanese with high level of English proficiency
- Knowledge of IT terminologies and software development life cycle
- Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.
- Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
