The Director of Trading Ireland is a commercial leadership role with responsibility for the annual retail budget split by Healthcare Beauty Toiletries & C&GM.
As a key member of the Irish Leadership Team the role is responsible for setting the strategy for the Boots Ireland commercial function as a whole and represents the Irish business on high level commercial issues in the UK & I dealing with suppliers manufacturers and other related commercial functions within the group. The role has a high level of professional expertise across multiple discipline such as buying merchandising and procurement. With a large team the focus on leadership development and nurturing talent is also key.
Key Responsibilities
Create & deliver a customer & category strategy relevant to Irish customer that supports Boots commercial objectives
Creates category and commercial plans to sustain and develop business performance in Market for Boots stores & utilizing the current customer trends and market insights
Influences UK Market Taking local Irish products and sharing across business with UK NI depending on relevance and opportunity
Finding Developing & Managing local & international suppliers to negotiate and deliver commercial business targets & KPIs
Continue to secure and develop new up and coming local brands
Working with UK Commercial team to increase distribution of established beauty brands in Irish Market and working directly with premium brands Tom Ford Chanel Mac Nars & Dior as examples
Develop the Premium and Beauty strategy required via BRI and beyond to establish Boots Ireland BRI stores appropriate to market in line with supplier ambitions
Through leadership oversee the relationship with key wholesaler who supplies Boots with Healthcare stock and support the Category team to negotiate and agree margin funding and deals
Ensure compliance with all regulatory commercial requirements understanding difference UK and Irish market and influencing through compliance lead where appropriate including with Irish regulatory bodies as required
Works cross functionally within the Irish leadership team to deliver business strategies and commercial initiatives
What Youll Need to Have (Our Must-Haves)
Retail FMCG or Manufacturing background who have progressed their career at a good pace and have a good end-to-end appreciation of the value chain.
At least 5 years relevant commercial experience at senior level and a strong commercial understanding of retail.
Leadership coaching and mentoring to direct and virtual teams
Strong commercial acumen negotiating experience with supplier base and track record of maximizing sales and margins developing categories and driving continual retail growth
Strategic thinking planning data interpretation and analytical skills
Experience of managing and developing a geographically spread team as well as managing relationships at all levels and influencing others to achieve results.
Experience of managing and developing brands into retail and product lifecycle
Strong relationship building and networking skills using influence and impact
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
Knowledge of Irish market is not essential but desirable
Travel to and within Ireland UK and Europe
