We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Radio Manager with strong experience in 4G/LTE and 5G NR (NSA & SA) and IoT device connectivity on Qualcomm chipsets. The role focuses on developing and maintaining radio management and connectivity software including APN configuration and lifecycle management to ensure reliable cellular data services across global operator networks.
Tasks
Responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain Radio Manager / RRM software for LTE and 5G NR (NSA & SA).
Implement mobility and radio procedures including Cell selection reselection and Handover (intra/inter-RAT)
Radio bearer and QoS flow management Power control and network optimization
APN & Data Connectivity Management (IoT Focus)
Implement and manage APN configuration selection and switching for IoT devices.
Handle multi-APN support for data IMS and private enterprise networks.
Support dynamic APN provisioning via SIM eSIM or OTA configuration.
Manage PDP context / PDU session lifecycle including attach detach retry and recovery.
Troubleshoot APN-related issues such as:
Data call failures
Authentication and IP allocation issues
Work with Qualcomm modem and connectivity frameworks (QMI AT or vendor APIs).
Qualcomm modem firmware
LTE/NR protocol stacks
5G / LTE & IoT Technologies
Support 5G SA/NSA and LTE Cat-M / NB-IoT use cases.
Ensure interoperability across multiple carriers and roaming environments.
Work on dual connectivity (EN-DC) and fallback mechanisms.
Analyze KPIs such as RSRP RSRQ SINR latency throughput and session stability.
Conduct lab testing field trials and carrier acceptance testing.
Resolve issues related to call drops data session failures and mobility problems.
Requirements
- 6 years of experience in wireless telecom or IoT connectivity software development.
- Hands-on experience with Qualcomm SDX series chipsets (e.g. SDX55 SDX62 SDX65 SDX75 SDX85).
- Strong understanding of Qualcomm modem architecture including:
- Application processor modem interaction
- Shared memory IPC and event-driven frameworks
- Experience working with Qualcomm reference designs (QRD).
- Ability to debug complex modem and network issues using: QXDM / QCAT / QLog Linux logs kernel traces and tcpdump
- Exposure to OpenWRT or custom Linux distributions on SDX platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-managed IoT connectivity solutions.
