Job Summary
Position Overview: The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician cleans disinfects and sterilizes all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care performs all daily biological and sterile supply testing and maintains logs for each functions throughout the facility to organize and direct instrument needs to units assists clinical operations as needed with endoscopy procedures stocks and orders supplies for unit as directed and will be responsible for understanding and being fully involved in completion of competencies based on AVH policies AORN AAMI HSPA and CER standards that are used as guidelines for SPD practices. The SPD Technician will be an active member of the entire department with the ability to help in roles outside of surgically specific job duties if needed. The SPD Technician will work collaboratively with others within the department to ensure an efficient professional and respectful environment. The SPD Technician will work with other departments as well in regards to patient safety and communication. Requirements: CRCST or CER. Bilingual in Spanish preferred Housing: Travelers are responsible for securing their own housing. It s extremely expensive especially in the winter. Please consider housing options in the surrounding towns: Basalt Carbondale & Glenwood Springs. $3500/month is common for a 1BR apartment in Basalt. Travelers looking for a housing budget less than this should probably not be submitted. Misc: Not accepting any RTO Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8k elevation)
