Job Summary
Title: Quality Technician II (Manufacturing / Advanced Optics)
Pay Rate Range: $20.00 $22.00/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Contract 12 months (extension possible)
Schedule: Full-time Monday Friday (8:00 AM 5:00 PM; occasional off-hours support as needed)
Location: Fairport NY (100% Onsite)
Job Overview
Tekberry is seeking a Quality Technician II to support quality operations within an advanced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on product quality review material disposition and supporting non-conformance processes for high-precision optics manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or production environment and be comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering operations and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and compliance.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality & Compliance
- Ensure product quality meets established requirements and standards
- Review and validate product and material documentation prior to release
- Support compliance with internal quality systems and procedures
Non-Conformance & Disposition
- Disposition and transact production events related to non-conforming materials
- Support containment and corrective action processes
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
Data & Process Support
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in quality systems
- Monitor quality metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive adherence to process discipline and quality standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as liaison between Quality Engineering Operations and Procurement
- Support plant safety initiatives and quality objectives
- Assist with training and communication across teams
Education & Experience
- Associates degree 2 years of experience in a technical manufacturing role
OR - High School Diploma/GED 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/technical role
Technical Skills
- Experience working in manufacturing or production environments
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Quality Control experience in manufacturing
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Experience interpreting procedures and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Effective communicator across all levels of the organization
- Adaptable in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- 100% onsite in Fairport NY
- Standard 40-hour workweek; occasional off-hours support may be required
- Fast-paced cross-functional manufacturing setting
- ITAR: This role supports an ITAR-regulated environment - candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Nationals
