Smith Industries is seeking a Safety Administrator / Coordinator who takes ownership stays organized and follows through. This role supports both the field and administrative side of safetykeeping programs on track records accurate and operations aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and report safety data (incidents near misses training inspections)
- Maintain audit-ready safety records certifications and compliance documentation
- Conduct new hire safety orientation and support ongoing training initiatives
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action tracking
- Support OSHA reporting and safety communications across the organization
- Perform shop/yard walkthroughs to reinforce safety expectations
- Maintain safety supplies for shop yard and DOT operations
- Support DOT compliance vehicle tracking and regulatory requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable responsive and able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments
- Effective communicator with the ability to support and influence teams
Preferred Experience
- Safety manufacturing construction or industrial environment experience
- Exposure to OSHA reporting safety tracking or DOT compliance
- Administrative or coordination experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and shop/yard environments
- Standing/walking for extended periods as needed
- Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
