Job Description:
The Senior Deputy Athletics Director is a full-time professional position that assists with the oversight and overall management of the Athletic Department and assists with external relations efforts of the Athletics Department and LSU campus.
50% Assist in external and legislative relations for the University. Works with campus leaders and supporters to review pending and proposed legislation. Research and develop assigned special issues and prepare recommendations and reports on policy regulatory and legislative matters. Interacts with government officials not-for-profit-organizations and other entities (at the national state and local levels) on behalf of the University. Assists in developing strategies to support the LSU Flagship agenda. Plan to provide information about LSU and represent the University at various functions meetings and events. Make presentations to groups maintain public relations efforts on and off campus by responding to direct calls correspondence and other communications/media about the goals and needs of the University. Coordinate with appropriate Departmental and campus contacts as required.
40% Assist with the management of assigned units/sports within the Athletic Department. This includes management financial review and control personnel management and facility management of assigned units/sports. Facilitate strategic allocation of revenue share and scholarship resources and support facilitation of third-party NIL opportunities. Maintain and develop a qualified staff of coaches and establish a working environment conducive to good coaching. Evaluate assigned coaches to ensure University and NCAA standards are met concerning: teaching and motivating student-athletes recruiting student-athletes and fulfilling University responsibilities.
10% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with ten years in NCAA Division 1 athletics administration or coaching; Knowledge of NCAA rules; Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree; Fifteen years experience in collegiate athletics. Experience as a Division I Athletics Director or senior-level experience within a Power 4 conference. Representation at conference-level meetings. Experience in federal and state governmental relations. Student-athlete/coaching experience. Experience overseeing a revenue sport.
Special or Physical Requirements:
Travel is required. Ability to work extended days weekends and holidays.
