Student & Employee Health Specialist - Full-Time
Job Summary:
To provide supervision and support to the Specialist staff of Student and Employee Health. To lead the Specialist team and to liaise between them and departmental leadership. To provide specialized support to Medical/Clinical Director inside the unit. Works to create a team environment to ensure coverage of all relevant tasks as well as lead the team to provide exceptional customer service. Follows relevant guidelines and assists the entire Student and Employee Health team toward unit and departmental goals. Manages time and scheduling of the Specialist team.

Certified Medical Assistant or LPN credential preferred
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Ability to understand and implement departmental policies and procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and department heads. Knowledge and understanding of typical computer systems tools and programs. Ability to work in a team environment and to promote a team-based positive culture.
Responsibilities:
- Orders inventories and maintains unit supplies; collects and distributes supplies and communicates with staff department and others in the institution. Assures all have a general understanding of budget climate and with mindful of cost-effectiveness. May participate in budget process including notification of medication or supply pricing changes and suggest improvements or efficiencies to leadership in any capacity.
- Acts as liaison between unit/departmental leadership and Student and Employee Health staff team on matters of day-to-day operations as well as regulatory and policy changes from the departmental University and broader level as applicable.
- Supervises Student and Employee Health Specialist I team. Manages time and schedules for these employees.
- Leads quality improvement efforts for Student and Employee Health Specialist team and SEH unit along with the Surveillance Officer
- Acts as backup for Student and Employee Health Specialist team and is cross-trained on duties.
- Manage procurement process for unit to include contracting and other processes for procurement.
- Run staff related meetings to include taking minutes building agendas with leadership bringing up staff concerns or those related to the unit as a whole.
- Produce or maintain reporting as necessary in Agility Workday or other related processes.
