Manager, Engineering ERP DB Migration Squad

As an Engineering Manager at QAD you will lead an agile engineering team responsible for designing building and delivering highquality software. You will combine handson technical understanding with people leadership helping engineers do their best work while delivering meaningful business outcomes.

Active use of AI-native development workflows Cursor Claude Code and CodeRabbit or equivalent is a baseline requirement not a nice-to-have. We treat AI augmentation as the standard engineering operating model. Leaders are expected to use these tools personally set norms for their teams and demonstrate that AI tooling raises the output of their entire squad. Candidates who view AI tools as optional or experimental are not the right fit for this organization.

The Mission: What Youll Be Building

You will guide a team building features and services across QADs adaptive cloudnative platform contributing directly to customerfacing capabilities and platform foundations.

Execution lead for the high-stakes migration from ProgressDB to PostgreSQL including the CDC bridge to the ERA data pipeline.

Your Impact/ What you will be doing: 

• Own daily execution of schema conversion stored procedure translation and data validation

• Set up and own the CDC bridge (Debezium/Kafka Connect) connecting migrated PgSQL to the ERA Kafka pipeline

• Define data quality and functional equivalence testing frameworks every migrated table must pass before sign-off

• Manage a squad of 6 engineers including principal engineer

Qualifications :

What we are looking for 

• 6 years in software or data engineering with at least 2 years managing a squad of 58 engineers

• Deep PostgreSQL expertise indexing partitioning query optimization and schema migration tooling

• Hands-on experience with database migration projects at a non-trivial scale

• Familiarity with CDC tooling: Debezium Kafka Connect or equivalent

• Direct Progress/OpenEdge or ProgressDB experience

• ETL pipeline or data warehousing background
