About the Role:

This full-time position operates within multidisciplinary teams and involves direct clinical engagement with individuals who are experiencing or recovering from problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and who are involved in the criminal justice system. The role provides high-quality evidence-based interventions. Services are delivered to participants involved in the criminal justice system at various locations including Karralika Programs Head Office Community Corrections Offices and the Alexander Maconochie Transitional Release Centre. At times the role may provide counselling support to participants of the Solaris Program within the AMC. The position delivers recovery-oriented harm minimisation-focused counselling aimed at improving clinical behavioural and reintegration outcomes.

Requirements of the Position:

Essential:

  • Full and unconditional registration with AHPRA AASW ACA or PACFA.
  • Working with vulnerable people registration
  • Drivers Licence
  • Relevant AOD-specific training and sector experience.
  • Comprehensive assessment and screening capabilities.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g. CBT MI ACT).
  • Trauma-informed practice with professional boundaries ethical practice and non-judgmental approach.
  • Strong report writing case noting and treatment planning skills.
  • Group facilitation experience (e.g. SMART Recovery or similar).
  • High-level computer literacy.
  • Addiction theory and counselling frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Mental health and AOD sector systems and consumer engagement principles

Desirable:

  • Forensic/criminogenic training and experience.
