Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Description
Our client a leader in chemical manufacturing is looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join their team in the Greater Nashville Area. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Compliance youll play a key role in leading and supporting environmental health safety and regulatory programs across their this role you will help assess design and enhance EHS initiatives driving a strong safety and compliance culture across the organization. The ideal candidate has experience leading safety programs in a chemical or plant-based manufacturing environment with a proven ability to conduct root cause analysis manage incident investigations and implement corrective actions. A collaborative hands-on approach will allow you to make a meaningful impact as the company continues to enhance its safety culture. Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Responsibilities
Develop safety programs in compliance with OSHA EPA and other regulations
Evaluate and update policies and SOPs to reflect regulatory changes and best practices
Provide leadership and guidance for training environmental compliance and safety
Promote employee engagement through committees recognition and participation programs
Design and deliver onboarding and refresher safety training
Coach and mentor staff on safety best practices and initiatives
Conduct audits inspections and risk assessments implementing corrective actions as needed
Lead incident investigations root cause analysis and development of preventive measures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safety improvements
Conduct behavior-based safety observations and provide actionable feedback
Analyze safety metrics to identify high-risk areas and recommend preventive measures
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance overall safety culture
Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Qualifications
Bachelors degree required
EHS experience within manufacturing required
Proven experience leading safety initiatives in a plant setting required
Skilled in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions required
Experience conducting safety and compliance audits required
