We areseekinga hands-on strategic financial leader to serve as our Director of Finance overseeing all financial this pivotal role you willprovideexpert financial insight driving strategy across financial reporting internal controls audit treasury and office services. Beyond high-level financial stewardship this is a working leadership position where you will actively manage vendor contracts corporate assets and organizational riskensuring the fiscal health and operational integrity that allow our mission to thrive.



About the Role

Asthe Director of Finance your key responsibilitieswill be to:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop multi-year financial plans that align resources with strategic goals ensuring long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee all financial operations (AR/AP payroll expense management month-end close) and produceaccuratemonthly financial statements including program vs. admin reporting and variance analysis.
  • Present quarterly financial reports to the Board and Finance & Audit Committee translating results into actionable insights on trends risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and test rigorous internal controls and financial policies; manage compliance with CRA regulations donor restrictions and grant agreements; andleadthe annual audit process.
  • Manage treasury functions cash flow and banking relationships while overseeing administrative operations including procurement vendor contracts insurance and organizational assets.
  • Supervise and mentordirect reports and partner closely with the Director of FundDevelopmentto support grant applications track restricted funding and ensureaccuratefunder reporting.

Your Competencies

  • Safeguards organizational assetsand integrity by designing implementing and continuously improving a robust internal control framework ensuring segregation of dutiesmaintainingan up-to-date risk register and enforcing strict dual-authorization protocols for all financial transactions.
  • Drives strategic decision-makingby analyzing and translating complex financial data program economics and multi-year funding scenarios into actionable insights business cases and recommendations for the Senior Director Leadership Team and Board.
  • Ensures full regulatory and contractual complianceby overseeing the preparation of all CRA filings (T3010) and regulatory reports leading the annual audit engagement and meticulously tracking restricted funds to honor donor intent and grant agreements.
  • Optimizesfinancial performance and organizational sustainabilityby developing multi-year financial plans building dynamic financial dashboards and KPIs and modeling program expansion to evaluate cost recovery and long-term viability.
  • Empowers a high-performing finance and administrationfunction by supervising mentoring and cross-training the Finance and Administration Manager fostering a culture of continuous improvement accountability and financial stewardship across the organization.
  • Ensures operational efficiency and complianceby overseeing procurement processes vendor contract management office resources and organizational insurance policies whilemaintainingappropriate healthand safety standards.

Required Credentials

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; advanced degree (MBAMAcc) is an asset.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressivefinancial managementexperience including direct responsibility for managing a budget of $6M or larger preferably within the Not-For-Profit sector.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (including classes and items) and cloud-based financial systems; knowledge of QuickBooks add-on products is a strong asset.
  • Advancedproficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel (pivot tables v-lookups complex formulas).

What We Need

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Mustresidein Ontario and be willing to work onsite at the downtown Toronto office.
  • Willing toworka flexible schedule including occasional evenings to accommodate organizational needs.
  • Ability to travel to other community-based settings as needed.
