Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Regulatory Scientist for our Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Practice to be based in the Washington DC this role you will work as part of a team to provide a high level of project management technical assistance and FIFRA regulatory and registration with the consultants in the Center for Chemical Regulation and Food Safety.
You will be responsible for
- Coordinating and tracking client projects project deliverables and budgets with project team
- Interacting with internal project staff to discuss client projects tasks and deliverables
- Interacting and communicating with clients on updates and progress of work
- Supporting interactions with EPA and state regulators as needed
- Gaining a strong understanding of FIFRA regulatory policy
- Preparing and submitting Federal and State registration applications
- Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for FIFRA and related projects
You will have the following skills and qualifications
- Masters degree or Ph.D. in a science-related field
- This is an on-site position. Candidates must be currently based or willing to relocate to or near the Washington DC area
- Experience with state and/or federal pesticide regulations a plus
- Experience in a scientific and/or research environment a plus
- Must be detail-oriented able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication writing editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Experience with project management budget tracking and invoicing a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook Adobe Acrobat required experience with MS Project a plus
- Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact diplomacy discretion and judgment
- Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus
- Presently legally authorized to work in the United immigration sponsorship or processingrequired.

Compensation
Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponents total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level total compensation includes base salary bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
