Program Overview
Salem Public Schools is seeking dedicated student-centered educators and therapists for our 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program. Our mission is to provide high-quality specialized instruction in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) to ensure students with disabilities maintain progress and thrive during the summer months. We value practitioners who are reflective collaborative and committed to equity and high expectations for all learners.
Program Schedule & Logistics
- Dates: July 6 August 6 2026 (Monday Thursday)
- Pre-Planning: Teachers will receive 3 hours of compensation for pre-planning and classroom setup.
- Location: Witchcraft Elementary
- Preference: Priority is given to applicants who can commit to the full 5-week session.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Intensive Paraprofessionals
Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with the delivery of specialized curriculum and the implementation of student IEPs.
Key Duties: Assist with behavior management provide general supervision and support students social-emotional interactions throughout the school day.
Note: Some positions may require 1:1 support for specific students as mandated by their IEP.
Compensation: Paid at the Intensive Paraprofessional contract rate.
Behavior Specialists
The Behavior Specialist provides essential behavioral support to the program as a whole.
Key Duties: Work collaboratively with the BCBA counselors administrators and classroom staff to ensure student safety implement behavioral intervention plans and respond to crisis situations across the school environment.
Compensation: Paid at the Behavior Specialist contract rate.
