Under the general supervision of the Manager Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Health And Safety Assistant is responsible for: working in collaboration with the Safety Coordinator by participating in activities that support health and safety programs and accident reduction including activities related to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) such as maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) inventories labelling education and waste management; participating with the development implementation and maintenance of safety programs policies and procedures; maintaining training records; participating in the occupational hygiene program; working with others to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the patients visitors and employees of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) and the Research Enterprises; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience as deemed recognized by the Hospital may be considered in lieu of the above.
