Determines and implements necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served. Provides instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques daily as well as at staff meetings. Maintains and continuously amends curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age appropriate activities are planned and conducted for individuals served. Attends continuing education courses as required. Performs other related duties and activities as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None required. Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or abilities required to perform the job: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalentTwo years experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities for this populationCertificates Licenses and Registrations: Valid drivers license in good standingCar registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving servicesAll state required training and certification completed in mandated timeframesCertification in Activity Coordinator preferredOther Skills and Abilities: N/AOther Requirements: Travel as neededPhysical Requirements: Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
