Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District is expanding to a 5-day district-wide preschool model for the school year and is seeking an energetic collaborative Preschool Teacher to join our early education team. This position is ideal for an educator who values play-based learning inclusive practices and strong relationships with students families and colleagues.
The Position
The Preschool Teacher will lead an inclusive classroom that balances a play-based universal preschool curriculum with specialized supports for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This educator will be part of a collaborative team focused on social-emotional development early academic foundations and positive early school experiences for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum aligned with the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS).
- Use Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) to assess student growth and inform instruction.
- Implement inclusive practices and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support diverse learners.
- Collaborate with special educators speech-language pathologists occupational therapists physical therapists and other service providers to implement IEPs.
- Supervise and support classroom assistants and paraprofessionals.
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with families through regular communication.
- Maintain a safe engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education or related field.
- Valid Vermont Teaching License with Early Childhood endorsement required; Early Childhood Special Education endorsement preferred.
- Experience with inclusive preschool classrooms and play-based learning.
- Strong collaboration communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with Google Workspace and student data/assessment systems preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and participate in active classroom activities.
