Supports the Controller in managing the hospitals accounting operations and ensures compliance with GAAP healthcare regulations and internal policies. Oversees financial reporting month-end close budgeting support and internal controls to maintain accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and reviews monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and financial analysis.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements. Assists with external audits and regulatory filings Including the 990 and 990T.
  • Oversees general ledger maintenance reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Supports payroll investment fixed assets and accounts receivable processes. Monitors and enforces internal controls to safeguard hospital assets.
  • Assists in annual budget preparation and variance analysis. Provides financial insights to department leaders for cost control and efficiency.
  • Supervises accounting staff providing training and performance feedback.
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to align financial practices with operational goals.

Education Requirement:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Licensure Requirement:

Certified Public Accountant license required.

Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant certificate required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently manage details organize and prioritize.

Experience:

  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience required. Preferably in healthcare or Big 4 accounting.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
