We have a fantastic opportunity for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our Developer Platforms team based in Bucharest.

We are looking for an engineer with hands-on experience in architecting building and operating database systems that power critical Adobe customer-facing services. Candidates should be enthusiastic about using data to drive intelligent automation and improve service resilience at scale.

What youll do:

Ensure the highest level of uptime and Quality of Service (QoS) to Adobes customers through operational excellence
Support and maintain globally distributed multi-cloud (public and/or private) database environments
Identify areas to improve service resiliency through techniques such as chaos engineering performance/load testing anomaly detection etc
Automate common repeatable tasks at a large scale to reduce toil
Tackle performance and stability issues using a wide variety of tools
Participate in an on-call rotation as required
Determine the root cause for all production level incidents and write corresponding high-quality RCA reports

What youll need to succeed:

Relevant production experience in supporting environments running at least one of the following or similar modern open-source database management systems: MongoDB CouchDB Cassandra Percona XtraDB Cluster MariaDB Galera Cluster PostgreSQL
Deep understanding of technical operations
Experience in modern cloud-based SaaS delivery technologies: AWS Azure Jenkins Git Atlassian Jira and Confluence Linux log analysis monitoring infrastructure automation and configuration management.
DevOps skills (scrum/Kanban/agile/ci-cd/12-factor)
Programming skills particularly with Python Java Go and Ruby
Understanding of high availability strategies including database replication clustering sharding
Understanding of data modeling and data structure design
Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills

Nice to haves:

Hands-on experience with containerization orchestration engines (Kubernetes)
Experience in software development or Internet-related industries particularly in the context of a SaaS offering
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
