Investigating History Grades 6-7 Scaffold Creator

Investigating History is a comprehensive authentic inquiry-based curriculum fully aligned to the 2018 History/Social Science Framework developed by DESE in collaboration with teachers history scholars and organizations across Massachusetts.

The purpose of this application is to recruit a teacher in the 6-7 grade span to develop scaffolds for key Investigating History lesson materials.

Starts Spring 2026

The district is seeking an Investigating History Grades 6-7 Scaffold Creator to develop scaffolds for key Investigating History lesson materials to support students who may need different entry points to access the curriculum. The teacher who applies interviews and gets accepted for this experience will receive $40/hr with a maximum of 175 hours.

The job responsibilities are as follows:

Be reflective and open-minded about Social Studies instruction as a collaborative problem solver.
Create coherent cohesive scaffolds for 2 grade levels while maintaining the rigor of the texts and tasks being scaffolded.
Meet as needed but at least once per month with the curriculum director.
Upload the developed scaffolded materials to middle school curriculum resource documents to share with teachers.
Well-versed in creating visually consistent content using Google Slides.
Prior piloting of the Investigating History materials is preferred.
