Assistant Resident Engineer

Assist the Resident Engineer with management and coordination of daily construction inspection activities.
Supervise field inspection personnel and coordinate inspection coverage for contractor operations.
Monitor contractor operations and construction progress to ensure compliance with plans specifications and contract requirements.
Review Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) and quantity documentation prepared by inspectors.
Assist with preparation and review of progress payment estimates change orders and contract modifications.
Assist with review of contractor submittals shop drawings and RFIs.
Coordinate maintenance of traffic operations and work zone safety compliance.
Monitor compliance with stormwater permits erosion and sediment control plans and environmental regulations.
Assist with coordination of utilities and public space requirements within the District.
Act on behalf of the Resident Engineer when delegated.

Required

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or related field.
Minimum 812 years of transportation construction experience.

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
NICET Level III or IV Transportation Construction Inspection.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I.
District Erosion and Sediment Control Certification.
