We are looking for talented technicians to help drive full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality reliability cost manufacturability throughput and security of the products that you deliver. The Functional Planner Technician serves as a senior-level technical resource responsible for planning coordinating and supporting production workflow across the manufacturing floor. This role bridges the gap between frontline technicians and engineering/supervisory teams by ensuring work orders build sequences and resource allocations are executed accurately and on schedule.

Key job responsibilities
Plan and sequence daily production work orders in alignment with build priorities and capacity targets
Coordinate with supervisors leads and engineers to resolve scheduling conflicts material shortages and technical blockers
Monitor floor status and adjust plans in real time to maintain throughput and meet output goals
Track and communicate WIP (Work in Progress) status flagging delays or quality holds to the appropriate stakeholders
Support NC (Non-Conformance) tracking by ensuring affected units are properly dispositioned and rework is scheduled efficiently
Maintain accurate records in production systems (e.g. SFC Smartsheet or equivalent tools)
Identify and escalate systemic planning issues recurring bottlenecks or process gaps to engineering and supervision
Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-tier technicians on planning processes and documentation standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives contributing floor-level insight to process optimization efforts
Ensure compliance with all work instructions safety protocols and quality standards

- Demonstrated proficiency in production planning scheduling or manufacturing coordination
- - Strong understanding of build processes work order management and quality systems
- - Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation BOMs and work instructions
- - Proficient in production tracking tools and data entry systems
- - Strong communication skills able to clearly relay status issues and priorities across teams
- - Proven ability to work independently prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production demands
- - Experience mentoring or supporting technician development preferred

- - Experience in aerospace defense or high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments
- - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles 5S or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Kaizen Six Sigma)
- - Proficiency with production management or MES systems (e.g. SFC SAP Smartsheet or similar)
- - Experience with Non-Conformance (NC) tracking disposition processes and quality management systems
- - Ability to analyze production data and generate actionable reports or metrics
- - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering quality and operations teams
- - Experience supporting or leading process improvement initiatives on a high-volume production floor
- - Comfortable working in a fast-paced ambiguous environment with evolving priorities
- - Background in satellite hardware or complex electromechanical assembly preferred

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
