Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer to join a growing engineering consulting environment focused on delivering high-quality infrastructure and municipal projects.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of transportation projects - from planning and design through to execution and client coordination - while contributing to meaningful infrastructure development within local communities.

The position is ideal for professionals who enjoy a balance of technical design project coordination and client interaction with a clear pathway toward project leadership and management responsibilities.

• Contribute to the planning design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects including roadways highways intersections and active transportation systems
• Develop detailed engineering designs including horizontal and vertical alignments grading drainage roadway geometry signage and pavement markings
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Utilize design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant tools to produce high-quality deliverables
• Support project coordination activities including scheduling budgeting and progress tracking
• Conduct site visits field investigations and data collection to support design and project execution
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams utility providers regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
• Participate in client meetings technical discussions and presentations
• Assist in preparing proposals work plans and technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
• Support contract administration and construction phase activities as required

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or roadway design preferably within a consulting environment
• Professional Engineering designation (.) or eligibility to obtain licensure in Ontario
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with transportation design tools
• Solid understanding of transportation engineering principles design standards and regulatory frameworks
• Experience working on municipal and/or infrastructure projects is highly preferred
• Strong communication coordination and technical writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and within a team environment
• Experience in project coordination stakeholder engagement or business development is considered an asset
• Willingness to participate in fieldwork and site visits as required

• Exposure to traffic engineering signal design or transportation planning
• Experience with environmental assessments or permitting processes
• Involvement in construction inspection or contract administration
• Prior experience mentoring junior staff or leading small project components
