Required Education: Bachelors degree.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelors degree with no additional experience.

The Leave Administration Analyst oversees all federal leave entitlements for the of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The position is primarily Health Sciences based and travels to Norman and Tulsa as needed. It requires discretion and independent judgment as well as a comprehensive knowledge of and ability to apply related to leave programs: basic accounting principles knowledge of federal and state leave entitlements and university policies and procedures. This position requires a high level of independent thought and the ability to maintain a neutral position with the interactive ADA process to ensure employees are availed of their federal rights while also ensuring the business needs to the University are met. The position works closely with the Office of Legal Counsel Human Resources - Employee Relations and departmental leadership.

Essential Duties:

  • Administers Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) workplace accommodations. Interprets and administers leave programs and polices in accordance with the applicable Federal and State employment laws.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for FMLA and Non-FMLA programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of Human Resources (HR) leadership.
  • Acts as an expert on all benefit offerings and assist employees with enrolling in benefit elections. Independently approves or denies requests based on relevant medical information and other documentation. Provides extensive case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims.
  • Works closely with employees and departments to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with all faculty and staff on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for employees on leave.
  • Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Assists in the creation and facilitation of leave administration training programs and HR policies.
  • Manages Short Term Disability and Long-Term Disability programs. Ensures that claims are coordinated with FMLA or general medical cases.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
