CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF
JOB TITLE: BOOKSTORE ASSISTANT
CALENDAR: 2171FT (9 MONTH)
SALARY: GRADE 109 (SUPPORT HOURLY)
SCHEDULED WORK HOURS: 4 HOURS PER DAY
Job Goal:
Perform accounting and clerical services in compliance with federal state county and district accounting regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years experience in a related field
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to work with standard software products including all Microsoft Office and Google programs
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Knowledge of and adherence to district policies and procedures affecting assigned work
Core Job Functions:
- Handle monies from extracurricular activities student events and fundraising projects including preparing and depositing cash.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts with cash register transactions.
- Prepare cash boxes for use at extracurricular activities and events.
- Sell and account for bookstore supplies and class fees.
- Assist in the preparation checking and reconciliation of inventory and various funds.
- Receive identify issue collect and take inventory of textbooks and supplies.
- Perform a wide variety of clerical tasks including typing filing coding copying and preparing reports.
- Maintain accurate files accounts data and records.
- Handle verbal and written correspondence and disseminate information as needed.
- Accept responsibility for students well-being and safety while under supervision.
- Respond to internal and external customers in a prompt efficient friendly and patient manner.
- Establish and maintain courteous cooperative working relationships with students staff and parents.
- Work professionally and respectfully with a diverse cross-section of individuals.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected student and staff information even after employment ends.
- Share sensitive information only on a need-to-know basis.
- Exercise positive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Follow all district policies and procedures.
- Operate and care for district equipment properly.
