The ILC is for students from 14 to 18 years old who have significant and complex disabilities. Functional academics life skills independence and vocational skills are the pillars of the program.
This is a sub separate classroom within the high school. The students are included in 1 to 3 classes in general education daily. There is also a high presence of typical peers in the classroom throughout the school day.
Certification: Severe Special Needs certification is preferred; moderate certification will be considered.
Candidates with BCBA and/or Transition Specialist licensure/ backgrounds will be strongly considered.
The qualified candidate will:
- have experience working with students with significant disabilities
- develop and implement curriculum in the areas of functional academics and life skills
- planning and overseeing community outings related to individual goal areas
- have implemented behavior plans and taken data
- have worked collaboratively with related service providers
- managing student and staff schedules
- be able to write goals and objectives for functional academics life skills and vocational
- promote inclusivity with students and staff
- communicate and build positive relationships with families
- assess students informally and formally on an ongoing basis
- overseeing and submitting MCAS alternative assessments for all students in each area
- liaisoning with outside agencies and outside service providers
- plan and facilitate IEP meetings
- other duties as needed

Salary is determined by education and experience ranging from Bachelors (Step 1) $63217 to Doctorate (Step 13) $128771 (This range is based on a 1.0 FTE).
