YOUR ROLE
At Palo IT technical leads are expected to beAI-native by defaultand act astechnical authoritiesfor their teams and projects. As aTechnical Lead (AI-Native) you will own the technical direction and project execution for engineering teams while actively embedding AI and Generative AI into how teams work by default.
You will lead and manage a team of engineers providing full-stack expertise establishing best practices and ensuring delivery excellence. Working closely with clients project teams and business stakeholders you willshepherd technical decision-makingand providethought-leadershipthrough both traditional development practices and AI-augmented workflows.
You will apply Palo ITsGen-E2 methodologyto drive quality speed and responsible AI adoption across projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery Ownership
- Own the technical direction and roadmapfor engineering projects.
- Provide full-stack expertiseto the engineering team and establish best practices on code quality and performance.
- Shepherd technical decision-making processand provide thought-leadership.
- Provide architecture-level and code-level feedbackfor the engineering team.
- Build confidence in project deliverythrough automated testing continuous integration monitoring and analytics.
- Monitor project progress and delivery qualityacross teams.
- Ensuretimelines outcomes and engineering standardsare met.
AI-Native & Gen-E2 Leadership (Core Expectation)
- Champion AI-native ways of workingacross the team including AI-assisted development testing and documentation.
- Define and enforce AI/GenAI best practices including:
- Prompt and context engineering standards
- Output validation guardrails and fallback strategies
- Code review standards for AI-generated code
- Stay current with emerging GenAI trends and toolsand translate them into practical value-driven implementations.
- Act as a technical authority and coachon Gen-E2 practices and responsible AI/GenAI adoption.
People Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of engineersto deliver high-quality code and projects.
- Providetechnical guidance coaching and career development planningfor team members.
- Manage performancethrough clear goal setting regular feedback and reviews and identification of growth opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative innovative and learning-driven culture.
- Recruit and buildhigh-performing engineering teams.
Consulting Clients & Growth
- Collaborate with clientsto understand business problems design solutions and lead implementation.
- Partner with Sales and Presales teamsto shape proposals solution approaches and contribute to technical responses and estimations.
- Contribute to reusable assets accelerators and frameworksto scale delivery efficiency.
- Support Palo ITthought leadershipthrough research experimentation and publication.
Must-Have Experience
- 10 yearsof hands-on software development experienceincluding recent experience in client and team management.
- Proven experienceleading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Deep technological expertise infullstack development. Preferred technologies includeReactJSfor frontend development andNodeJS/Java/Pythonfor backend development.
- Experience in developingscalable reliable and secure applications.
- Experience withsolution architecture.
- Strong understanding of commonprogramming patterns and principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated use ofAI tools in day-to-day engineering work(not just theoretical exposure).
AI-Native & Gen-E2 Skills (Required)
- Hands-on daily useof AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot Cursor or equivalent).
- Strong grasp ofprompt and context engineeringfor engineering workflows.
- Proven experience defining and enforcingGenAI best practices across teams.
- Ability tocoach and mentor teamson effective and responsible AI tool usage.
- Critical thinking to validate and verify AI-generated code and solutions.
Good to Have
- Experience with any emerging technologies (Decentralised Identity Realtime-cross border payment Quantum computing Advanced Smart Contract etc..).
- Experience withAI/ML services and frameworks.
- Experience withcloud computing platforms(Azure AWS GCP).
- Mobile developmentexperience (Swift for iOS Android native or hybrid).
