The National Social Work Agency (NSWA) is an Executive Agency with responsibility for advising Ministers and policy teams with an interest in all aspects of social work policy and practice including adults children and justice social work. Additionally the NSWA will provide cross governmental policy input in areas including health and social care mental health children and families prisons and all aspects of public protection.
This is a new agency with highly motivated staff who take pride in their work and strive to ensure effective person-centred and trauma responsive support is available for people of all ages in Scotland. The work is fast-paced high profile varied and rewarding.
The NSWA is looking for an experienced social work practitioner to join the Implementation and Improvement Unit who will have a key role in supporting a national approach to implementation and improvement support for the social work workforce.
This post will require a level of travel across Scotland which will include some overnight stays to support in person training and implementation support.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to develop test support and implementevidence-based and insight ledprogrammes of improvement for the social work workforce leaders systems and practice aligned with national priorities to a range of social work services in childrens adult and justice social work in collaboration with partners
Draw on your social work practice experience knowledge and skills to deliver the NSWA Trauma Responsive Social Work Services Implementation and Learning Programme including delivery of a comprehensive programme of implementation support training consultancy coaching and contributing to a sustainable infrastructure through training for trainers
Qualifications
The post holder will be a qualified and registered social worker
Will have completed recognised and endorsed trauma enhanced practice type training aligned with the Transforming Psychological Trauma: A Knowledge and Skills Framework for the Scottish Workforce for exampleNES Safety and Stabilisation or Survive and Thrive training.
Working pattern
This role is a permanent level transfer position.
