Were looking for a Floor Care Technician with at least 1 year of experience to keep our spaces spotless. If you know your way around a buffer and love a job that keeps you movinglets talk!
- Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaceslike tile vinyl carpet and concreteusing the right methods for each. This includes regular sweeping mopping and scheduled deep cleaning to keep floors looking their best.
- Operate floor care machines such as buffers auto-scrubbers carpet extractors burnishers and vacuums to complete daily and project-based tasks.
- Perform advanced floor care services like stripping old wax or finish applying new coatings buffing for shine and deep-cleaning carpets using hot water extraction or bonnet methods.
- Follow safety guidelines when working with cleaning chemicals and equipment and always wear the proper personal protective gear (PPE).
- Use all equipment safely and make sure its cleaned stored properly and in good working order.
- Follow OSHA and facility safety standards to help keep yourself and others safe.
- Work on your own or with a team to complete daily floor care duties and larger cleaning projects.
- Keep in touch with your supervisor about any equipment issues supply needs or floor damage that needs attention.
- Help maintain a clean safe and professional space by keeping floors free of spills dirt and slip hazards.
Day in the Life of a Floor Technician:
- Start your shift by reviewing your schedule and gathering supplies and equipment for the days tasks.
- Walk through assigned areas to check floor conditions and plan your work.
- Sweep mop or vacuum floors to prep for deeper cleaning.
- Use machines like buffers scrubbers and extractors to clean and polish floors.
- Strip and wax floors or deep-clean carpets depending on the surface and schedule.
- Monitor equipment performance and clean or refill machines as needed.
- Stay alert for spills hazards or damage and act to fix or report them.
- Wrap up by cleaning your equipment storing supplies and logging completed work.
What Youll Need to be Successful:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands on experience working as a commercial floorcare technician janitor or similar role.
- Experience using floor care machines like buffers auto-scrubbers burnishers and carpet extractors.
- Knowledge of floor types (tile vinyl carpet concrete) and how to clean and maintain each properly.
- Valid RealID
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift often on hard surfaces like tile or concrete.
- Use hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as mopping scrubbing and operating machines.
- Lift push or carry up to 50 pounds (equipment supplies or furniture).
- Bend kneel crouch and reach to clean under furniture or along baseboards.
- Operate heavy-duty floor care equipment like buffers burnishers and carpet extractors.
- Maintain good vision and hearing to safely use equipment and communicate with team members.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves goggles or masks when needed.
- Work indoors in busy high-traffic areas like hallways lobbies or dining spaces.
- Be exposed to cleaning chemicals and disinfectantsmust follow safety procedures.
- Handle noise and vibration from machines like buffers and vacuums.
- Work in warm cool or drafty areas especially near entrances or loading zones.
- Navigate around furniture equipment and people in shared workspaces.
