TITLE: ELEMENTARYPRINCIPAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a valid administrative certificate.
- Masters Degree
- Such additions and alternatives to the above qualificationsas theBoard of Education may find appropriate andacceptable.
REPORTS TO:Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent
SUPERVISES:
- All staff assigned to the school.
- All other resource and service personnel while functioning inthe assigned school.
JOB GOALS:
- Administers the school according to the philosophyobjectives and policies of the Board of Education underthesupervision of the Assistant Superintendent and/or
Superintendent. - Provides educational leadership to both faculty and studentsand inspires them to contribute their best efforts.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works to improve instruction and learning with the school andeffectively aids teachers in their instruction and studentsin their learning.
- Develops and maintains suitable programs of staff improvementthrough faculty meetings in-service activities etc.
- Provides educational leadership for the certified staff evaluatestheir services and reportsthe evaluations.
- Exercises initiative in promoting the attendance moral andspiritual values conduct health and safety of students andpersonnel of the assigned school.
- Provides educational leadership in developing and pursuinga program of public relations designed to improve thecommunitysunderstanding and support of the educationalprogram.
- Implements Board policies and administrative rules andregulations relating to the school system.
- Assists in the recruitment selection retention promotion andassignments of all personnel under his direction.
- Supervises the development and implementation of all schoolactivities.
- Provides leadership for the non-certified staff evaluates theirservices and reports the evaluations.
- Exercises decisive leadership in crisis situations.
- Keeps abreast of changes and developments to assureprofessionalgrowth.
- Submits reports regarding personnel curriculum equipment suppliesactivities and other required reports.
- Assumes all other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent.
- Recommends for approval all course offerings textbook adoptionsand other instructional matters.
- Designs the master scheduling of classes.
- Directs all school business affairs.
- Approves all purchase orders and countersigns all pay orders fromschool activity fundaccounts.
- Directs pupil accounting procedures.
- Coordinates school programs events or activities which havedistrict implication throughthe Superintendent.
- Directs instructional programs to meet the individual needs of thestudents and to assureaccreditation.
- Initiates programs activities and events original or innovativein nature. (Programs activities and events having districtimplicationsshould be approved by the superintendent.)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
