Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Aircraft Avionics Technician to join our New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team based in Columbus MS.
You will be part of the team to perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the avionic function. Tasks included fabrication repair and installation of aircraft parts maintenance and repair of helicopters and support of helicopter specific programs. You will also perform assembly installation repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacture maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft and function check of components.

On the eastern border of Mississippi youll find Columbus home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. Its here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges:
Perform assembly installation repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacturing of aircraft.
Install electrical harness and sub-assemblies in aircraft by performing but not limited to the following activities: basic identification of wire and coax cable clamping bundling mounting routing stripping splicings soldering termination.
Perform work from blueprints sketches vendor and service manuals and other source data to obtain dimensions locations alignment tolerances and other specification requirements.
Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools power equipment measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments.
Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems.
Your boarding pass:
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft preferably rotorcraft.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints sketches and diagrams and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
Must be able to read write and speak English

Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
Carrying: able to carry documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
Lifting: able to lift documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings working on computer. At least once a month
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Daily
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. 5%
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes but is not limited to Safety Shoes Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Respirators/Masks and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
Citizenship:
Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
