We are seeking a full-time Project Manager at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. The Project Manager will serve as the onsite lead providing project management support in cooperation with VA staff architects engineers and construction contractors.
- Manage all phases of assigned construction projects
- Coordinate with design teams contractors subcontractors and clients
- Provide expert-level project and/or construction management consultation
- Support Government inspection and quality assurance teams
- Track project schedules; identify delays and implement corrective actions
- Review and manage submittals RFIs and change orders
- Prepare daily weekly and monthly progress reports and inspection records
- Use construction management software for scheduling tracking reporting and documentation
Job Specific Requirements
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering or Architecture from an accredited university
- Substitution: 14 years of directly related construction project management experience in lieu of degree
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years managing facility construction projects
- Experience in:
- Supervision of engineering design and construction teams
- Schedule control and progress tracking
- Cost management and budgeting
- Full project lifecycle management
- Strong understanding of construction documents and coordination
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Functional Responsibility:
- Manage technical quality schedule and cost across projects
- Provide expert consultation across technical and personnel matters
- Maintain oversight through daily reports inspections and stakeholder engagement
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering or Architecture preferred
- Project management certifications (e.g. PMP CCM PE RA) are a plus
Communication Language and Software Skills
- Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor update and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
- Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills
