The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for Research Study Coordinator 1 to join their team.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to Jill Steiner MD MS an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine the successful Research Study Coordinator will work closely with a research team led by to support a new project titled Detailed biopsychosocial phenotyping of stress following acute cardiac events in adult congenital heart disease. This project recently received funding from the Adult Congenital Heart Association and a philanthropic donation to the University of Washington Division of Cardiology to investigate trajectories of stress (patient-reported and biomarker-reflected) following acute cardiac events related to having adult congenital heart disease and to characterize patients concerns and support needs around event-related stress in order to improve patients mental health and quality of life.

This is a 50% FTE position based at UW Medical CenterMontlake. The Research Study Coordinator must have a good working knowledge of the protocol solid understanding of UW research and clinical processes and a demonstrated ability to independently assess problems and identify and implement solutions. This position requires comfort working independently consistently and accurately and compliantly. This position must adhere to guidelines and policies of the University of Washington UW Medicine and funding sponsors including NIH and foundation awards.

Position Dimensions and Impact to the University

Provides investigator support on all aspects of heart and vasculardisease for investigator initiated government and industry sponsoredclinical research studies. We support and manage Human Subjectsregulatory and financial oversight to ensure efficient execution of studies with the highest quality data.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Research Operations 80%

- Screen medical records to determine study eligibility recruit and consent eligible patients (in-person) lead collection of survey and electronic health record data coordinate blood draw and clinic appointments maintain the studys REDCap database

o Assist with arranging and conducting interviews with patients

o Collect and analyze survey biomarker and interview data to complete this assessment.

Administrative 20%

- Build and maintain study oversight and regulatory materials assist with budgets/purchasing prepare progress reports ahead of team meetings and check-ins with the funders

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience performing work in support of clinical biomedical or behavioral research studies involving human subject.

Desired Qualifications

Dependable and have strong organizational skills including the ability to manage and track multiple duties and tasks while working independently.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person and by phone/email/Zoom.

Experience working in clinical health research and an interest in improving patients psychosocial health through research.

Experience using Microsoft Office and REDCap.

Intention to stay in the position through at least June 2027.

The salary information provided below is for a full-time position and will be prorated for part-time.
